      • Chao YuenRen
An essay by Chao Yuen-Ren at the turn of the century, to spoof the idea of converting written Chinese into a phonetic system, i.e., Pinyin. Every word in the essay sounds alike; so when this essay is written by the Pinyin system, the entire essay becomes,
shi shi shi shi shi shi shi ......
        which are utterly un-readable.
