There are two points between the Sun and the Earth where the gravitational pulls from each are
equal. These locations are known as Lagranian Point 1 and 2.
Any satalites placed at these gravitational neutral points would be in ideal locations
for long-term observations of solar system.
Chinese are currently planning to do this. It is called the "Kua Fu Project".
